Description
Allegra is a well-presented 2004 Bavaria 36 two-cabin owner’s version, purchased new at the Southampton Boat Show and meticulously maintained throughout her life. With just two owners from new, extensive documentation, recent standing rigging and furling gear, a new mainsail, significant electronic upgrades, and a comprehensive maintenance history, she represents an exceptional example of the highly regarded J&J-designed Bavaria range.
A comprehensive survey from 2020 is available, with all recommended actions subsequently completed.
The Bavaria 36 is a safe, predictable and capable cruising yacht, equally suited to those moving up from a smaller boat or experienced sailors looking for a comfortable cruiser. Equipped with the optional deep lead keel, Allegra points higher and offers improved upwind performance compared with the standard keel version.
Accommodation comprises six berths across two spacious cabins and the saloon. The berths are large and comfortable, the saloon comfortably seats six, and the heads benefits from a shower. Diesel heating, a TV, and a spacious cockpit make her equally comfortable at anchor, in the marina, or on extended cruises.
The J&J-designed generation of Bavaria’s is particularly well regarded for its sea-keeping abilities and high-quality interior finish. Rounded joinery, practical layouts and excellent use of space give the boat a timeless feel that continues to appeal today.
On a personal note, we’ve thoroughly enjoyed owning and sailing Allegra. She has taken us safely to new destinations and has always looked after us well. Our intention was to keep her for several more years, which is reflected in the recent investment in sails, rigging and electronics.
